Matesa is a full-service textile manufacturer that maintains its superior quality standards by executing every step in-house. It consumes 28,000 MT of cotton every year; ½ of that is U.S.-grown cotton.
Among the biggest textile companies in Turkey, Matesa includes seven yarn factories, one yarn winder spinning and doubling factory, a denim factory, woven and dying factories and knitted fabric and fabric dying facilities.
The company has the following certifications: ISO 9001:2000, OEKO-TEX, BELCORO and SANTEX, and—in the name of environmental sustainability—all chemical waste is sent to recycling units.
Matesa is a significant supplier to fashion and ready-made garment companies internationally; It sells to more than 60 well-known brands in 17 countries.
Of its products, 24 million meters of denim fabrics, 6,000 MT of knit fabrics (in range of 90 – 370 gsm including jersey, pique, interlock, rib, fleece and jacquard fabrics), 9 million meters of woven (sportswear and shirting) fabrics, and 12,000 MT yarns from Ne 6 to 100/1 carry the COTTON USA label.
Reasons why they use U.S.-grown cotton? “The high-quality production, quick service, reliability and up-to-date product ranges,” according to the company. Its “knitting factory supplies European clients with quality fabrics” that are relevant and in demand. Finally, “weaving mills enjoy (U.S.-grown cotton’s) cleanness and durability as it produces cotton fabrics for home textile clients.”
