COTTON USA Fair in Mexico Simplifies Sourcing in the Western Hemisphere
Nearly 90 textile mills, apparel manufacturers, brands and retailers met in Cancun, Mexico, from June 13-15 to participate in the COTTON USA Western Hemisphere Sourcing Fair and identify business partners for sourcing U.S. cotton products. Approximately 800 individual business meetings took place during the Sourcing Fair.
The Sourcing Fair brought together 15 U.S. mills; 23 retailers/brands from the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe; and 49 apparel manufacturing companies from Colombia, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru.
The Sourcing Fair started with a conference session with a panel of experts who addressed the cotton price situation, quantifying the value of time, and trade policy updates. In the two days following the seminar, the U.S. mills and retailers met with Central American, Mexican and Andean textile and apparel executives in private meetings to discuss business opportunities.
